The Maine Prevention Certification Manual contains all the information that you will need to become a Provisional Prevention Specialist (PPS). The manual provides an overview, purpose, general information, certification requirements, the prevention performance domains that define the experience and education to be sought, the code of ethics required for prevention professionals, a fee schedule, continuing education requirements, and the recertifcation process. The manual contains requirements for both Provisional Prevention Specialists and the Certified Prevention Specialist status toward which they will be working, so that the path to permanent and reciprocal certification is clear. The manual is in PDF format and can be read online, printed out or downloaded from the “Downloads” section of this site.
