In response to the COVID-19 pandemic that is affecting all of us right now, the Maine Prevention Certification Board (MPCB) has voted to extend all certification-related deadlines by 6 months, effective March 27th, 2020. This extension applies to required trainings, exams, supervised hours, certifications and recertifications. This means that any deadlines a prevention provider has that fall between March 27th through September 27th of 2020, are now extended 6 months out from the date of that deadline.
- Example: If your certification period is set to expire on April 1, your certification end date will now be extended until October 1.
- Example: If you needed to take your exam in June, you will now have until December to take the exam under this extension.
After the initial six-month extension, the MPCB will determine at that time if an additional deadline extension is necessary.
With questions regarding this extension, please email the MPCB Administrator, Sarah Johnson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
